Flagship project

Metropolitan LPR Network
Undersecretariat for Crime Prevention

The largest license-plate reading project in Chile: 303 LPR cameras deployed at strategic points across the 23 municipalities of Greater Santiago, operated from the Metropolitan Dispatch Center with direct integration to the Carabineros SEBV and Undersecretariat for Crime Prevention SITIA platforms.

Every read is checked against both databases in under 500 ms. A match triggers an immediate alert to the operator, opens an incident in the CAD, and notifies the nearest police station with the vehicle's image and travel route.

Institutional ecosystem

Integrated with the State's platforms

Visionaria's LPR platform operates within Chile's public safety ecosystem, not as an isolated silo.

Active search

SEBV — Carabineros de Chile

Vehicle Search Statistics System

Real-time integration with Carabineros' national registry of stolen vehicles. Every read is automatically checked: if the vehicle is under active search, the system generates an immediate alert and opens an incident in the CAD.

Digital evidence

SITIA — Undersecretariat for Crime Prevention

Information and Technology System for Investigation and Action

The LPR system feeds and queries the Ministry of the Interior's SITIA platform, contributing pass records as evidence for criminal investigations and regional crime-pattern analysis.

Automatic dispatch

Regional CAD / PSIM

Dispatch and incident-management center

Every blacklist match automatically opens an incident in the CAD platform. The operator receives the vehicle's image, owner data (if available) and a suggested response protocol.

automatic dispatch

Platform

Core capabilities

Real-time recognition

Automatic plate reading for moving or stationary vehicles, at speeds up to 150 km/h, in day and night conditions, rain and backlight.

List and alert management

Blacklists (stolen, suspended, actively-searched vehicles) and whitelists (authorized access). Instant alert to the operator on any match.

Integration with external databases

Direct connection to institutional databases — including Carabineros records and Ministry of the Interior platforms — via secure protocols and formal agreements.

Vehicle lookup and history

Search by full or partial plate, date range and checkpoint. Pass history with front-facing image, direction of travel and estimated speed.

Vehicle flow analytics

Traffic-flow statistics by checkpoint, time window and road type. Actionable data for traffic management and patrol planning.

Vehicle access control

Automatic barrier or gate opening for an authorized plate. Entry and exit logging for parking lots, industrial sites and municipal access points.

Specifications

Reference technical parameters

The values shown correspond to standard installation conditions. Every project includes an on-site technical survey to determine the optimal configuration based on traffic volume, lighting and road type.

Legal framework

Regulatory compliance

Law 21.719 — Personal data

A plate links to its owner. The system operates under lawful data processing, with a declared purpose, query logging and access restricted to authorized personnel.

Inter-institutional agreements

Integration with Carabineros and SPD databases requires a prior formal agreement. Visionaria supports the documentary and technical management of the agreement as part of the project.

Defined retention period

LPR image storage is sized and capped at the maximum period allowed by regulation, with an automatic deletion policy once the period expires.

Applications

Use cases

One platform, multiple deployment contexts.

Municipal surveillance

Gantries at communal access points with automatic alerts to Carabineros for wanted vehicles.

Criminal investigation

Reconstructing a vehicle of interest's routes from its pass history across multiple checkpoints.

Industrial access control

Automatic entry for authorized vehicles at plants, ports and high-security facilities.

Road safety and statistics

Counting, classification and speed of vehicle flow for traffic authorities.

High-criticality zones

Surveillance with thermal cameras and recognition on critical routes, border zones and strategic infrastructure.

Parking lots and access points

Access-list management for residential complexes, hospitals, universities and corporate buildings.

To consider in every project

What makes the difference on the ground

Mandatory site survey

Camera positioning and angle are critical to the recognition rate. We always carry out an on-site survey before sizing the project.

Institutional integration managed from day one

Connecting to SEBV and SITIA requires a formal agreement. We support inter-institutional coordination as part of the process, not as a later stage.

Network infrastructure assessed in detail

Every checkpoint requires connectivity, latency and redundancy analysis to guarantee the committed response time.

Storage sizing

LPR images grow fast. We calculate the real volume before defining the storage infrastructure, taking applicable retention regulations into account.
